Our Mission

A and C

At On The Brink Dog Training we strive to help people improve the relationship they have with their dog(s). We want to give you a better, more effective way to communicate with your dog. This can be achieved through obedience training. Obedience training can help your dog learn to focus on you, restrain himself, and can help build your dog's confidence.

Obedience training is a team effort. Successful training relies on more than just the dog; it requires dedication and consistency from the owner. As with most endeavors, successful obedience training will require plenty of time and dedication. Most pet owners will agree that working with an animal can be physically, mentally, and emotionally trying. That is where we come in. We will combine our knowledge with your goals to create a training approach that is customized to fit you and your dog. We want to help relieve the stress associated with owning a pet by making your dog reliable, trustworthy, and well behaved. At On The Brink Dog Training we can help you turn the family pet into a family member.

The Importance of Obedience Training

Obedience training is an invaluable investment that has many benefits, which include:

  • Obedience training helps us open up a line of communication with our dogs
  • Obedience training helps make your dog more reliable, trustworthy, and helps you gain the dogs respect
  • Obedience training helps teach our dogs to restrain themselves, to focus and listen to what we are telling them, and can help build their confidence
  • Obedience Training gives our dogs a job to perform, making them feel as though they are contributing to our "pack"
  • Obedience training can help solve behavioral issues such as: excessive barking, jumping on people, pulling on the leash, and other more complex behavior issues
  • Basic obedience lays a foundation that can lead to more advanced training, such as: off leash training, retrieval, tracking/trailing, scent detection, support/assistance work, personal protection, and police K-9 functions
